What Advertising We Do for Nonprofits.

With over 15 years doing business, DASH TWO eagerly wants to work with Non-Profit organizations as a way of giving back.

Nonprofit Advertising: The Best Ways to Advertise for Nonprofits With Outdoor, Wild Posting® and More

Nonprofits do amazing work worthy of people’s attention, admiration and support. To get those things, nonprofits must connect with the right people through targeted, carefully planned advertising campaigns that deliver true return on investment.

Nonprofit advertising is different from advertising for for-profit and government entities. To make those strong connections with the people you want to reach, you need an agency with extensive experience in this sector, understands your goals, and knows media well enough to get you the discounts and pricing your modest budgets demand. You need DASH TWO.

We prioritize working with nonprofits. At this point in our agency’s long history, we have the time, expertise and desire to promote and elevate causes we believe in. Nothing makes us feel better or brings us more pride than seeing our nonprofit clients’ messages take off from a clever advertising campaign.

If you work or volunteer for a charitable group, learn more about how we can help you do good — we offer discounted pricing for nonprofits, and we use our expertise to craft campaigns with impact. Read on to discover why our partnership makes sense.

What Makes Us Different From Other Agencies Working With Nonprofits

Many agencies fail to understand the nuances and budget realities facing nonprofits. We aren’t one of them. We talk to you upfront about your vision and your budget, and we find ways to ensure you get everything you want without breaking the bank. This special care comes from years of working with nonprofits and adjusting our approach based on solid market experience. After we finish each campaign, we take stock of what worked and what could have worked better. We learn and adjust for our next nonprofit campaign.

Nonprofits deserve our collective support for all the good they do. We’ve seen other agencies take advantage of nonprofits’ lack of knowledge about the media industry and overcharge them. We refuse to do that.

First, that’s shady. Your mission deserves support and integrity. Second, we don’t do nonprofit work to make money. We do it to help. We know that sounds a little corny, but we don’t need to prove anything. We offer all the nonprofits we work with a deep discount on our services and see this as a way we can give back. We do something we’re good at to support causes that need it.

Our History of Advertising Work for Nonprofits

Our CEO, Gino Sesto, founded DASH TWO more than a decade ago. As a mature company, we continue to create trailblazing campaigns and use outdoor in new and creative ways. But we’ve also earned the right to be selective and devote our attention to the things that matter.

Nonprofit work matters. Whether you’re fighting climate change, working with former gang members, fighting for reproductive rights or trying to get out the vote, you feel passionately about your work, and we know others do, too. Our work is based on connecting you more closely to that base while attracting some new supporters along the way.

Our nonprofit work has grown organically over the years. A charity we work with on a Wild Posting® campaign may pass our name along to someone who needs a billboard and so forth. It has been a natural progression of finding new-to-us nonprofits whose belief in their mission demands to be shared. We’ve had thousands of clients over the years, and we’re proud to say a rising number are nonprofits.

Cause Marketing We are Particularly Interested In

As an organization DASH TWO’s favored causes typically focus on women’s rights, climate change, and animal cruelty.  When 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(4) enlist us around missions that we value strongly we will often times discount rates and or subsidize with our own funds.

Nonprofit Clients We Have Worked With

We’re extremely proud of the long list of nonprofits from every part of the political spectrum that we’ve partnered with over more than 15 years. Some of these campaigns rank among our all-time favorites — from the really bold ones with attention-getting premises to the ones with beautiful creative. Here are just a few organizations we’ve worked with:

  • – Planned Parenthood
  • – Fridays for Future
  • – Ultraviolet
  • – Revolt TV
  • – Immigrants Are Essential
  • – SoFi Stadium LA Rams Vote
  • – Elta MD Skin Cancer Awareness
  • – International Center of Photography
  • – Grammy Museum
  • – Tia Health

What Outdoor Advertising Works Best for Nonprofits?

We’ve had success with all types of out of home advertising for nonprofits. Here is a rundown on the five most effective formats.

1. Wild Posting®

This is our favorite. We consider a well-done Wild Posting® campaign the No. 1 most effective type of street advertising. (Wild Posting® refers to pasting up posters all over the outside of urban buildings and/or construction barricades, creating an immersive and fun outdoor experience.)

2. Billboards

Billboards remain second to none in getting out a message and making a fast impact.  Billboard advertising for nonprofits is a key way for causes to get the word out.

3. Mobile Billboards

Mobile billboards sit on trucks and tool around the city delivering a message to different places. They can be costly, so this is more of a special option when you need to make a big splash.

4. Guerilla Advertising

Guerilla advertising refers to campaigns that go beyond the traditional purview of outdoor ads. Guerilla tends to be inexpensive, which appeals to nonprofits’ budget-mindedness.

5. Experiential Marketing

Experiential marketing refers to “experiences” that promote a product or event. We like the message focus of experiential for nonprofits, since you need to appeal to people’s empathy to win support.

Examples of Our Nonprofit Outdoor Advertising Campaigns

Here are just a few ways we have worked with nonprofits in the past:

– Fridays for Future: Our Wild Posting® campaign for this climate action group showed pictures of children and reminded people “the Earth is no toy.” –

– Revolt TV: This “Vote or Die” campaign in 2020 delivered an impactful message to young people: vote or surrender your future. We appreciated the direct appeal and call for change.

– Immigrants Are Essential: Our Wild Posting® campaign for this immigrant rights group featured bold, colorful posters reminding people about the essential role immigrants play in our economy.

– Planned Parenthood: The famed reproductive rights nonprofit presciently predicted the danger of Roe vs. Wade being overturned back in 2018 in this attention-drawing Wild Posting® campaign.

– Impeach President Bannon: We loved the concept for this 2017 campaign to “impeach Steve Bannon,” then Donald Trump’s chief White House strategist, so much that we did the campaign at cost. The clever idea drew national media attention, too.

– Fire Bill O’Reilly: Around the same time as the Bannon campaign, we did a flash Wild Posting® campaign for the nonprofit women’s group Ultraviolet, urging Fox News Channel to dump O’Reilly following allegations of widespread sexual harassment.
