MasterClass partnered with DASH TWO to promote Questlove‘s highly anticipated DJing and music curation class, launching a Wild Posting® campaign across New York, San Francisco, and Los Angeles in March 2021.
Questlove — drummer, DJ, producer, and cultural curator extraordinaire — is one of the most respected figures in music. His MasterClass covers the full arc of DJing craft: equipment setup, sequencing, live loop creation, record-scratching, and the deeper art of reading a room and curating a musical moment. The 13-lesson program is as much about philosophy as technique.
Wild Posting® was the natural medium for a campaign rooted in music culture. The format has been part of the music industry’s promotional DNA for decades — the same street-level energy that defines DJ culture and record stores is embedded in the Wild Posting® aesthetic. Placing bold, oversized posters in the country’s most music-forward cities put the campaign directly in front of the creative professionals, music fans, and aspiring DJs that MasterClass was trying to reach.
The three-city rollout — New York, San Francisco, and Los Angeles — targeted the most culturally influential markets simultaneously, creating a unified national presence while feeling hyper-local in each city. The installations generated organic social sharing as fans and passersby photographed the posters and spread the campaign online.
