Who DASH TWO Works With

Expanded beyond our roots in music advertising to create campaigns aimed at Gen Z in beauty, hair, fashion, sports, education and more

Since launching in 2009, we have worked with some of the best-known brands across tons of categories. We’re proud of our roster of clients. But we don’t work with just anyone. We refuse to do dull campaigns for boring products, no matter how much money you offer us.

Our team makes sure a project is the right fit before we take it on. We embrace brands with the same ethos we have — they must do right by their own clients, love trying new ways of doing things, and like to have fun. That’s how we’re wired, and our best collaborations happen when we have those things in common.

Over the years, we have expanded the types of clients we work with as we grew and gained experience in new areas. Much of our business comes from happy clients recommending us to their friends, which we see as the highest compliment. Our team earns clients’ trust through hard work and finding ways to make a vision a reality. We’re also pretty good at clearing unexpected hurdles, such as limited inventory or short turnaround times, so that our clients never have to worry.

To understand our client roster, you have to look at the beginning and see how our focus evolved as we became a standout advertising agency based in Los Angeles.

Early on, We Worked Mainly With Music Labels

Our founder, Gino Sesto, comes from a music background. When he started DASH TWO in his small rental house during the Great Recession, he mostly created advertising campaigns for independent record labels. As our reputation for quality work spread, and we began to assemble our teams in LA and Nashville, we branched out into other categories.

Music has always embraced the extraordinary. Just as artists take chances with new styles and songs, the industry loves ad campaigns that disrupt the status quo. That naturally led us to develop expertise in nontraditional media, such as outdoor and digital.

We have worked with clients in all areas of the music industry, including concert promoters and big and small record labels, promoting artists of all types, such as country, pop, rock and gospel. From there, our client list expanded.

Our Advertising Agency Works With Cosmetics, Fashion and Hair Clients

Fashion, beauty and hair care brands whose young target audience overlaps with many of those music clients began to seek us out. We developed a knack for experiential marketing, like dynamic pop-ups, that drew young people. These brands wanted to work with us because they saw people on social media talking about our campaigns through organic word of mouth. They saw something cool, like an ice cream truck in LA handing out free samples tied to a client’s product, and they wanted to generate the same buzz.

Startups are particularly interested in our unique approach to advertising. They want to make a big splash, and we deliver that. Perception is everything when you market to young people. Our campaigns make these advertisers look cool and their products desirable. We base them on our research and proven trend tracking. Plus, we employ young people. They know what their demographic likes and responds to. We’re not guessing.

Tech companies such as DoorDash and Uber target young people, and they use us because we understand how to make them stand out. Young people cut through advertising clutter easily. They grew up with digital devices, and they ignore the stuff that doesn’t resonate with them. Our approach draws attention through unexpected attention-grabbers like bright pink murals or Wild Posting® campaigns.

More recently, clients in the education and nonprofit areas have approached us. They see our success connecting with hard-to-reach demographics. We love working on these campaigns because they call for creativity. We might create a cheeky Wild Posting® poster for Planned Parenthood, for example. Our team thrives on creative challenges.

Going Beyond Traditional Media for Youth-Oriented Campaigns

Be honest — how many cool, hip people do you know who spend most of their time indoors watching TV? Not many. We quickly discovered that the best way to reach people is to go where they are. That means busting beyond traditional media formats like TV, newspapers and magazines while putting dollars behind other formats.

One is outdoor, a specialty of ours. Another is digital. We know where these young people under 30 hang out, and our campaigns find them.

Our Advertising Agency in LA and Nashville Knows How to Connect With Gen Z

Take a look at the brands we’ve listed below. What do they have in common? From music labels and concert ticket brokers to universities and skincare brands, they all want to reach young people. We specialize in youth-oriented advertising that resonates with Gen Z.

Where we go right and others can go wrong is in treating young people like, well, people. It’s not about trying to use the current slang. (That just makes you look as old as Steve Buscemi in the popular meme.) It’s about delivering relevant messages in a way they will remember and talk about — the same as advertising to older demographics.
